I appreciate what they were going for, but the vast majority of it just doesn't work together in a very interesting way, and the majority of the game feels very similar. Overall, I find myself fairly bored at the end of each session of The Outer Worlds. Which, once again, should not be taken as strong praise many of the extra mechanics feel half baked and the world itself has only some areas that feel really unique and interesting but is otherwise pretty bland. Which should not be taken as strictly praise The Outer Worlds has moments of strong writing and fun encounters in an otherwise very mediocre package.įallout 4 certainly beats TOW in terms of loot, mechanics, and its open world. What Fallout 4 does worst (Writing and Combat), The Outer Worlds definitely does better.
